The impetus of Kent’s writing was the creation of his blog, The Financial Philosopher, in 2006, to drive traffic to his investment advisory firm’s website. It didn’t take long for Kent to discover his passion and skills for writing and to build valuable experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Kent Thune is a Certified Financial Planner (R) and the owner of Atlantic Capital Investments (ACI), an independent, fee-only, registered investment advisory firm. Founded in 2006 and located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina area, ACI specializes in investment management and retirement planning.
Prior to founding ACI, Kent was Senior Investment Advisor for six years at a regional pension consulting firm in South Carolina, where he was the primary fiduciary and advisor on more than $350 million in retirement assets.
Rounding out his 15 years of financial services experience, Kent has served clients in brokerage, banking, and mortgage lending.
Kent also has served as an Adjunct Professor at Charleston-area colleges, teaching Accounting and Retirement Planning, as well as online courses, such as Personal Finance, at The University of Phoenix.
